אחד הדברים שאפשר להבחין כשמדברים עם ג'מל זה שהיא מביאה את עצמה, את הפרסונה שלה לכל דבר שהיא עושה, היא גם כיבדה אותנו בשיר חדש שהיא כתבה לתלמידים שלה. ג'מל היא זמרת, משוררת, מוזיקאית, רקדנית וכמובן מורה לכיתה א' ברשת HTH – High Tech High.

ברשת הייטק-היי יש דגש גדול על עבודה מבוססת פרוייקטים (PBL) עם דגש על חיבור לעולם האמיתי. דיברנו על הניסיון שלה בעבודה עם כיתה א', כששאלתי אותה "איך עושים פרויקטים עם תלמידים בכיתה א' ?"  היא אמרה לי שהם ממשיכים לפצח את זה. ואנחנו מדברים ארגון שעוסק בלמידה מבוססת פרויקטים 20 שנים!

דיברנו על איך עושים פרויקטים עם הגילאים הצעירים, האתגרים שיש להם, מה היא לא מלמדת במסגרת פרויקטים, כמה פרויקטים הם עושים בשנה? מה הם רוצים לשנות? מה זה Wonder Wall? ועוד..

​

When speaking with Jamelle you can immediately notice that she bring herself, her persona to everything she does, she even gave us the opportunity to hear one of the songs she wrote to her students. Jemelle is a singer, writer musician, dancer and a first grade teacher at HTH – High Tech High.

​

In HTH most of the learning occurs on projects, (PBL – Project Based Learning). We talked about her experience at the first grade, and when I asked her "how do you do projects for the first grade?" she said that they are still figuring it out. And we all have a lot to learn from her.

​

We talked about projects in the younger ages, the challenges, what she doesn't teach in PBL, how many projects a year and what is a wonder wall? And more.

​
